Is Over-Freezing the Same as Ice Build-Up?
Not necessarily. A freezer being very cold is not the same problem as excessive frost or ice buildup, although the two can appear together.
If thick ice is the main issue, the ice build-up page may be a closer match. If the cabinet is too cold or controls do not change the temperature, this page is the better starting point.

Check the Setting First
Confirm the temperature control has not been set lower than intended. If the freezer remains excessively cold after a reasonable setting, the appliance should be diagnosed rather than repeatedly adjusted.
